UN Resolution vetoed by US       printable version
05 Jun 2025: posted by the editor - Opinion

The US veto deployed against the UN resolution calling for a ceasefire and the immediate distribution of aid in Gaza marks the US as complicit in supporting the ongoing genocide, ethnic cleansing and war crimes currently being committed by Israel.

This is now further compounded by the dismissal by the United States of International Law and the imposition of sanctions on four judges at the International Criminal Court, including over an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

World returns to 'law of jungle' in face of pre-emptive strikes

Western support for Israel's right to strike Iran backs up a pattern of "pre-emptive" violence that critics say is further eroding international law and the rules-based order put in place in the wake of World War II, ushering in a "law of the jungle" in which might takes precedence over right – with dire consequences for global stability and co-operation.
