Ministers showcase Local Enterprise Offices and announce details of improved service for micro and small enterprises

A new system of 31 Local Enterprise Offices aimed at delivering improved supports, in a better location, to more businesses, and ultimately create more jobs has been showcased by Ministers Bruton, Hogan andPerry. The existing 35 County and City Enterprise Boards will be phased out as part of the Government reform programme.

EU bans neonicotinoid pesticides to protect honey bees

The EU has implemented a ban on neonicotinoid pesticides after studies revealed they were damaging to honey bees. The ban was agreed after France, Germany, Spain and 12 other countries voted Yes but Italy, the UK and six others voted No, while four countries, including Finland and Greece, abstained.
