Gaza-through a looking glass

Since the 1967 invasion and annexation of Gaza by Israel 27,000 Palestinian homes and other structures (livestock pens and fencing for example) crucial for a family’s livelihood, have been demolished in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT), including East Jerusalem. —See more.

Israel documents the demolition of a multi-story structure as a single building, so the number of destroyed homes is probably much higher.

Israel's illegitimate rule over Gaza and other Palestinian territories violates many aspects of the Geneva Convention. It is a situation that has received little more than lip service by the world's 'powers'. The majority of Israeli citizens living in the state of Israel see nothing incorrect in Israel's invasion of Gaza and its illegitimate rule—it is a removed issue that does not affect them and their prosperous lifestyle.

But let us reverse the situation. What if Palestine had invaded and annexed part of Israel and demolished whole villages to build their own settlements on foreign territory, and then built a wall around the annexed land to prevent exit or entry?

What then would be Israel's reaction?

Indeed, what would be your reaction if a foreign military power invaded your land and proceeded to dominate your daily life in every way?
