Plain English Awards @ 02 Jul 2015
Mason Hayes & Curran. The aim of the awards is to reward organisations that communicate clearly and to offer free plain English training to those who don’t.

Anyone can enter the competition by sending documents, pictures or websites that they think are outstanding examples of plain English or of gobbledygook to https://www.nala.ie/plain-english-awards. An independent panel of plain English experts will judge the entries. Winners will be announced on 18 September at the gala dinner for  PLAIN 2015 – an international plain language conference in Dublin.

So, if you've got a document you're proud of, an awful sentence you've transformed, or a website that is clear and precise, you've got an entry. Or, if you have seen a poor example of communication that you would like to enter, then send it to us.

Promoting plain English
The awards are organised by the National Adult Literacy Agency to promote the use of plain English in all public information. The Awards are free to enter online at www.nala.ie/plain-english-awards

Closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 14 August.
