State heritage buildings get funding

Five local authorities are to share funding of €347,200 for the upkeep and maintenance of five national heritage buildings.

This allocation will assist with works to safeguard a number of important buildings and monuments protected under the Planning and Development Act or under the National Monuments Acts.

The heritage structures funded are all of significant special interest.

The amounts recommended are between €60,000 and €80,000.
