August 2016 'On The Nail' Literary Gathering

Tim Cunningham and Richard W Halperin are this month’s guest poets at The Limerick Writers' Centre August 2016 'On The Nail’ Literary Gathering at The Buttery, 10 Bedford Row, Limerick.

Richard W. Halperin is an Irish-U.S. dual national. His full collections are published by Salmon: Anniversary (2010); Shy White Tiger (2013); Quiet in a Quiet House (2016). His chapbooks are published by Lapwing: A Wet Day & Mr Severidge Sketches; Pink, Ochre, Yellow; The Centreless Astonishment of Things, all 2015; and Blue Flower, June 2015. The House with the Stone Lions is due out later this year also from Lapwing.

Tim Cunningham was born in Limerick and educated at C.B.S., Limerick, and Birkbeck College, London. He has worked, mainly in education, in Dublin, London, Delaware and Essex. He currently resides in Essex, UK. His first collection, Don Marcelino's Daughter, was published by Peterloo Poets in 2001 and reprinted in 2002 and 2004. His second collection Unequal Thirds was published in 2006, again by Peterloo. Kyrie, his third collection, was published in 2008 by Revival Press, the poetry imprint of the Limerick Writers' Centre. Three other collections followed from Revival Press: Siege (2012); Almost Memories (2014) and The Lyrics to the Nightingales Song (2015).

Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers. Even if you don't write you are welcome to bring something along to read. The night begins at 8.00pm and admission is free. So join us on the night and make this event something special.

NOTE: Our special authors book table will again be in operation, so if you want your book, CD's etc publicised make sure you are represented on the table.

The evening gets underway from 8pm.
