Storm Brian parks closure notice
20 Oct 2017: posted by the editor - General, Travel, Ireland

In view of the current Met Éireann status Orange wind warning, the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht has announced that the following sites will be closed to the public for tomorrow Saturday 21 October:

Dromore Woods Reserve, Co Clare
-Coole Park, Gort, Galway

There is no change to The Burren, Connemara and Ballycroy National Parks which will operate as normal for tomorrow.

The public are also advised to take care if visiting Killarney National Park and Glengarriff Nature Reserve as high winds could result in falling trees or branches already weakened by ex-hurricane Ophelia.

Preferably the public should avoid high risk areas in the Park and Reserve or consider deferring visits until after storm Brian has passed.

Please note that St Gobnait's Wood in Ballyvourney, Co. Cork remains closed following damage caused by ex-hurricane Ophelia.
