Simply the bottom line

where death stalks

There is no heroic glory in death, only death itself. Those who would mistakenly associate glory with dying, regardless of the cause, and who live their lives towards such a goal are in the most part walking around with their heads up their own ass.

That is not to say there there are no heroic deeds and no heroes or heroines. There are, of course, those who give their lives in the effort of helping others.

Yet it must be asked if such actions of bravery are determined and deliberate actions. No-one in their right mind, it might be said, would deliberately sacrifice their own life. Rather, there is a certain element of gamble involved, and perhaps too an acknowledgement of the dangers.

All of us are tasked with one eventually in life, that of our death. Despite its all pervading presence, many of us are simply too busy with the process of living to stop and give much thought to the reality of death.

The ancient Sanskrit religions focused on the task of preparing the living soul for the eventuality of death in far more explicit terms and disciplines than their modern day counterpart Christianity-based religions. Perhaps as well as looking forward, we really do need to look back too.

HORNUCOPIA ?
The Extended Luimneach Version

Changes there must be
Iím sure youíll agree
to laws letting car alarms sound in the city.
ĎCoz if they donít set Ďem right
they disturb someoneís night
and intrude on the thought of the witty.

Neíer mind the gas it might be green but itís gas
and okay might somehow fit in here
If car alarms had been then Ilyiad would never
and I know that sounds strange but itís strange sounds that matter
to a car alarm crazed city dweller.

You know we just might if we put up a fight
get a fine brought in for the offender.
£500 I am sure would silence the cur
and get car alarms fitted far better.
But then where would we be
well asleep, yes well maybe
in dreams of a car alarm free perfect city.

Sometimes I declare
That without them then there
Would be no one awake with this ditty.
If Karma was cool and not such a fool
And those who were wrong were right all along
Then those who werenít right might wrong better.
But Karma sneaks in and you know when its been
ĎCoz you end up a car alarm hater.

Outside in the street and stuck there all week
Is a bloody great big expensive Mercedes.
It shrieks day and night
And Youíd think someone might come along and make it feel better.
But no one appears and Iím a little afeared
Iíll turn into a car-alarmed car destroyer.

So Iím sure youíll agree Changes there must be
to the laws that let car alarms sound in the city.
When they donít set Ďem right
they disturb someoneís night
and intrude on the thought of the witty.
