You can either register as a user or file news as a guest.
To file news, follow the
instructions below:
1. Decide which country or category your news is relevant
to

Filing News
If you are not a registered user, your
login username is the country or topic you are filing news under.
For example, if
you are
filing news
to the
Caribbean
news
page, your username
would
be Caribbean and your password Caribbean.
Similarly, to file news to a special category such as Human Rights,
your username will be Human Rights and
your password Human Rights. Your guest
password to log in for
any country or category is always the name of the country or category.
Logging in as a guest will mean you will be restricted to filing
your news
only
to the
category or countries assigned to the category in which you have
logged into. For example, logging in as a guest to file news to
the France news page will afford you the option of also chosing
other European countries assigned to the same news block as France. Registered
users are able to file news to any category including special
categories such as Opinion.
Note that all guest user names and passwords are case sensitive,
and both must exactly match the category description.
If your item is suited to other regions it will be
filed to those locations by the editor. Multiple category filing is
possible for those with higher levels of editorial responsibility.
Uploading pictures
This system permits picture uploads. You can upload a picture
and insert it into your document in simple to follow steps. Please pay
attention to the instructions, available on the picture upload page,
when uploading pictures.
Uploading files
As with pictures, you can also upload text, htm etc. files to
the system.
Once uploaded you are then able to insert the file into your story. This does
not insert the actual file into the story — it inserts a link to the
file. When the link is clicked the file opens in a new browser window.
3. Look
around
When
you arrive at the submit news page, be sure to familiarise yourself
by exploring all of the options available on the page.

SHOWING ON THE DROP DOWN MENU OR YOUR NEWS WON’T
BE PUBLISHED!
News sent to the system
can be published immediately, or you can
• set a specific date and
time
when
your article will be automatically published, or
• you can publish
it as a draft or unapproved article, which will notify an editor
that
your material requires editorial attention.
Once published, guest users are
initially unable to return to and edit material, but you can
contact
the editor.
Registered users may gain editing rights once they have been fully
approved as
contributors.
HOW TO BECOME AN EDITOR
Registered contributors whose journalistic knowledge and skill
is considered sufficient may progress to the level of editor
whereby they may be granted
editing rights for a particular category or categories. If you are already
registered and consider you have the necessary skills and wish to become
an editor please contact the site administrator.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
FOR CONTRIBUTORS
The publishing page has two sections - short story, and full story.
The short story will always appear on the selected news page, but
the long story (accessed for input purposes by clicking the 'toggle
full story' link on the add news page) may sometimes be automatically
filed
separately
and is accessed through
a link
at the end of the short story. If your item is just a few
paragraphs or so, then file it in the short story section.
Otherwise,
please use the short story
as an introduction and place the full article in the long
story
section.
You are strongly advised to study the news submission guidelines before
sending articles for the first time.
Items that are considered
unsuitable will be removed by the editor. All items will be archived
when outdated—usually on the 1st of each month—and then
removed once they become fully outdated.
Please note that the guest login system does
not provide a designated place for your byline (name).
If you are filing news as a guest, you are encouraged to put your
byline (by Your Name) in either the 'title' or the 'short
story' slots on the create story page, shown in miniature below.
