Beware the begrudger

HOW TO RECOGNISE BEGRUDGERS

They:-

It can be quite easy to unknowingly succumb to the dominant nature of the begrudger.

Although masters of little except begrudgery, they are so plentiful in numbers that their victims can begin to accept belittlement as the norm.

The greatest defence a begrudger has is the willingness to take up the mantle of the status quo, a viewpoint in which all others assume less significance than the intangible ideal.

But wait. Aren't we all begrudgers in our way? In fact, is it possible to be anything else, if less than a saint?

The Anatomy of a Begrudger

Beware the begrudger, for they will attempt to belittle you, to deny you your own experience, covert your success and then denigrate you for it. They are the most corrosive type of person there is.

A begrudger is, in short, an individual who has yet to discover and come to terms with his or her own identity.

One of the worst traits of the begrudger is their constant desire to belittle others. This is the put down factor, rooted in a blinkered, egotistical view of the world—and their own world. It is the most negative aspect within society today. The condition of begrudgery appears to develop strength in relation to percieved social status. The phony, plastic Mrs Robinson fools who cackle at social gatherings like buffoons gathered together for no real known reason, any who attend functions for the social status attached and not out of any particular reason or affiliation.

Yet perhaps the worst kind of begrudger is the one who begrudges you the very life you live. Some people would prefer to pretend that the reality of certain situations simply did not exist. This does little to resolve anything, like failing to wash between the toes. Such people are not necessarily begrudgers, though many begrudgers can be identified through their sweaty feet.

This is generally because the begrudger is so overtly conscious of trying to maintain an air of superiority within the self and an outward air of repression to all others that day to day chores are quite often simply forgotten and neglected.

A begrudger is a shameless user of others, whom are considered to exist solely for the begrudger's own convenience and gratification. All good things are considered theirs and theirs alone with no consideration for anyone else.

(Incidentally you won't find the word 'begrudger' in your average dictionary. It is curiously enough a term that seems to have originated in Irish society)

The begrudger will not have any thought for nor care in any way about who you are or what you are as a person. To do so would compromise the begrudger's goal of putting you down.

The begrudger tends to assume a slightly glazed expression when discovering that someone with whom he or she is conversing might have more knowledge or experience of a particular subject.

At this point, the glazed look indicates that the subject is going into ante-begrudgial symbiosis — a state in which the sub-conscious is supressed by the hithertofore repressed conscious mind. Results vary.

Quite often the begrudger will simply change the subject without warning, stamping it with an air of obvious insignificance. Where the subject is steered back on course by the other party, the begrudger will deploy snide remarks designed to irritate and belittle in an effort at forcing the other party to drop the topic.

The post-begrudgial contiguity — in which the begrudger assimilates the lessons of the encounter into and then re-suppresses the sub-conscious — precedes the slow return to begrguder equilibrium as the repressed conscious mind absorbs the leechflow of the sub-conscious. The process is almost always accompanied by severe contraction of the pupils and a dilation of the major sweat pores.

  Cure

There is no known external independent cure for the condition of begrudgery. Cure must come from within and is generally preceded by an unsurmountable crisis brought on by the begrudger's begrudgement. This leads the begrudger into reluctant acknowledgement that further begrudgery in that particular subject is foolhardy.

However, because the process does not extend to other topics afforded begrudgement by the begrudger, there is no definitive time limit possible for the effecting of a succesful and full cure.

So, if you took my advice, you'd simply beware the begrudger.
